Learn about Hawai‘i’s Monarchy, royal families and history on this customized Honolulu tour.  Optional sites to visit and/or tour include: 

  • The King Kamehameha Statue & Ali‘iolani Hale (pictured here)

  • ‘Iolani Palace, situated in the heart of Honolulu.  This site was home to 2 palaces, the most recent being completed in 1882.  Today it is a museum open for tours.  (Entrance fee of $20 not included in tour price.)

  • Queen Emma Summer Palace, home to Emma Rooke and her husband, King Kamehameha IV.  Located in scenic Nu‘uanu Valley, it is also open for tours.  (Entrance fee of $4-6 not included in tour price.)

  • Mauna‘ala royal burial grounds, also in Nu‘uanu Valley, is the final resting place of nearly all Hawaii's 19th century monarchs. 

  • Kawaiha‘o Church, sometimes referred to as the Westminster Abbey of the Pacific, is located in Honolulu, within walking distance from the palace grounds. 

  • The Pali Lookout, where Kamehameha I solidified his control over all the islands, provides the best backdrop for histories of the ancient ali‘i chiefs, battlegrounds and Hawai‘i’s transition to a modern, constitutional monarchy.
